Sonchia is a residential designer who first came to Savannah by way of SCAD, where she received her master’s in architectural history. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Arizona. Sonchia grew up in several major cities across the country, but she spent many years in Colorado before and after attending SCAD. During her time in Colorado, Sonchia worked as the program and outreach director at the Telluride Historical Museum and then as the executive director of the Smithsonian Affiliate Pinhead Institute, working with students in six different school districts in rural southwest Colorado. She returned to Savannah in 2014 to continue work in the design field. During the pandemic, Sonchia spent time with Loop It Up teaching and developing program curriculum. She is now proud to be involved as a board member and help promote and support the mission of Loop It Up.
